The brocante season is enjoying some down time. A season to reflect, to take stock, to refurbish to find new homes for last year's purchases.
I don't generally find the time for flicking through magazines, but this is the time of year when there are no brocantes to go to, and I enjoy reworking stuff I have here, and finding inspiration in other people's pictures.
Colour is still the big factor in most people's decor, and in france the palette remains decidedly quite neutral.
I love the mix of styles in this room, steel chairs with the oval table and rounded cupboard against the wall.
I like the use of the twin chandeliers over this sofa, make a
note to look out for a pair at the next fair ...
This is my favourite way of showing small paintings, just propped up against a wall, rather than hung. Last year I found a lot of little paintings and I've put together a group of pictures that need to find new resting places around the home.
Loving this simple table and the mix of furniture here, I saw a table just like this in September but passed on it, maybe I should have got it after all ....
If you would like to come to Normandy to hunt for your own treasure, then you are welcome to join one of my brocante tours or to come as a private buyer. The tours are beginning to fill up, but there are still some spaces left in April and September.
The first really big fair will be in March, and I still have some dates free for taking buyers there. If you'd like any more information, just drop me a line
