More of "chez moi"

I've been busy as a bee redesigning my home office [hence the many home office moodboards lately], and it's still a chaotic spot in the house, so no pictures to show yet. I prefer to show you spots around "mon chez moi" that make me feel like home  -  you know that "ha!" feeling when you browse around the special corners of your house. These are my little "ha!" spots, from my moodboard to the family scrabble magnet message board [translates as "Mom, can we get more French Tagada candy? Non!"] or the wall crepe recipe we use almost every sunday... The last pic is a project my 11-year-old-daughter and I just finished: we were desperately looking for some cool black vine wall stickers, but in vain. So we decided to go crazy and draw directly on the wall with sharpie - yes, regular sharpie - pens, the idea behind this was that if we screwed up, a fresh coat of pain would take care of the problem. And voila! The result is amazing! Ines added some 3D effect butterflies - less than 10 bucks at Target and the result is pretty striking. She loves it and says it now looks like a perfect teen bathroom, not too girly, but still girly enough. She's happy, so I'm happy!

Monday Mix : Dark wall love

In love with these dark colored walls spotted lately here and there. What a dramatic effect these give to a room! Love, love these...

Today, I am loving...

Oh, I think I'm speechless... This bathroom spotted on Architectural Digest is just pure bliss. Extravagant, yes. Unique, yes. Stylish, yes again. Crazy, for sure. But check this bath space made out of a giant pebble shaped granite piece brought back from Bali and sculpted as a bath receiver - smart idea : all the water pipes and ugly equipment are hidden in the wooden chest by the bath tub -  or the hidden shower head concealed in the baroque chandelier on the ceiling.... Probably not what I would go for if I had that kind of budget, but still...A.M.A.Z.I.N.G... and nothing like anything I've seen before....

House Tour : Herve + Emma + 3

Emma and hubby Herve brought their Parisian lifestyle to their New York upper east side home. New York based correspondent for Milk Magazine, Emmanuelle furnished her nest with second hand market finds and carefully chosen furniture.  As a result, a very European atmosphere reigns throughout the space. I love the personality of this home!

More inspiring home offices

I am finally redesigning and putting some order in my home office {Merci, Ikea!}, so any picture of a clean, clutter free desk ends up on my moodboard this week. I realize that having a minimal work space is extremely hard to achieve, because without any color, a workspace is cold and impersonal, and too much color ends up looking messy and cluttered. These desks have it all : minimal mood, yet a dash of color gives them a homy and feminine feel. Love these, a whole lot...

+++++ moodboard

I am usually not a fan of geometrical shapes in interior design, but I'll make an exception to this statement when it comes to crosses. Why is it that crosses - non religious ones I mean - add such a soft side and inviting character to a space? Do you use crosses in your own space?

Studio i29

In Amsterdam, Liesbeth and Bart commissioned interior architects' Studio i29 to redesign their loft. Keyword: multi hidden shelving for an ultra minimalist look. The result is a fantastic zen and serene space, full of light and character. I love this loft!

Home Offices...

... [that make you wanna say "Hooray, it's Monday!"]

It's Monday, back to work. Some Mondays, it's easy, others, it's not. But when your desk or home office looks like any of these, it's suddenly very exciting to go back to work, wouldn't you agree? So clean up your ☂〄☁⚡☿ and get ready for a new work week. Happy Monday!

Today, I am loving...

Today, I am loving this kids corner with these vintage 1960s camping beds and washed out color pillows... So cosy, comfy, full of different inviting textures, I'd even use these for a grown ups corner! Love, love, love this space.

Read more books!

Yep, read more books : not only are they good for you, but they're also great for your interior! We've already approached the power of books in interior design in a previous post but I had to share these pics with you. Books not only replace furniture, playing the role of original side tables when piled, but they instantly add character and depth to a room. Also greatly in love with the faux book pile pillow spotted on the delicious hvvit blog. What about you, do you use books in an original way in your interior?
