I am usually not a fan of geometrical shapes in interior design, but I'll make an exception to this statement when it comes to crosses. Why is it that crosses - non religious ones I mean - add such a soft side and inviting character to a space? Do you use crosses in your own space?

Trend Alert : Rescued Headboards
Have you noticed lately how DIY and rescued headboards pop out everywhere on blogs, catalogs, and deco magazines? A fun, cheaper, and more original option to the conversative [and boring if you ask me] headboard. So go thrifting, trash digging and get you hands on an old piece of wood or metal, an antique door, a chicken fence, anything you can find that was not initially a headboard... and make it a headboard! How fun!

Decorating with green
With spring freshly arrived, no wonder green is to be spotted everywhere, from walls to home accessories. Green is such an interesting color, because its hues and shades can give such different vibes to a room : lime can be fresh, forest or prairie green adds an instant dramatic effect to a room, whereas khaki and washed out green bring a vintage feel to a space or an accessory. Here is a selection of interiors that use the green color with brio.

Trend Alert : Painted Rug
Spotted on many interiors {and outdoor rooms} lately, the painted rug, a clever alternative to dusty rugs. This is a great way to delimitate visually a space, especially with the growing open space trend in interiors. It's just a shame that concrete flooring takes so much time to get adopted by US households [and mastered by US contractors]- it's been a growing trend in Europe for almost a decade - and it is so much more practical and hygienic than carpeting...
So the main question remains for the painted rug : minimalist, graphic, or ethnic tribal patterns? ;-) I am loving this!
