a friend's sunny loot shoot

A dear friend has been here for the weekend, and indulged herself with a little shopping.   She is soon to open a sweet little store in the UK, and this was a holiday weekend/buying trip.

It only took her a few hours to find this treasure.  It is amazing what can be achieved with the right addresses and a good eye.

Of course I loved everything she picked, but I have a special soft spot for

 the  charming engraved mirror, the two undressed armchairs and the china service.

the buying tour - day three

A few shots of the countryside as we drove through Normandy today.  The weather is beautiful and very very warm, the days are long and happy.

On a buying tour like this, everyone appreciates the moments driving from one brocante dealer to the next.  Time to sit back and take stock of purchases, and time to enjoy the view!

Paris and its rich façades were long behind us today as we shopped from morning till evening along the valley.

After the rush of the city, and the fatigue of the big fair yesterday, today seemed positively therapeutic!

First day of the week's buying trip - sunshine, Paris, parks, palaces and brocante....

as promised, this week will be mainly pictures and little text; a girl has to sleep !

christina's loot shoot, - greige comes to Normandy

The weekend has been filled with wisteria and irises and brocante, and all of that shared with the lovely Christina from the blog Greige and her charming Mom, Linda.

This is Christina's second visit here, and Gibson and Ghetto definitely approved her presence ...

and her choice of purchases!

Ghetto and I agreed on this lovely orange sofa, we both wanted it to stay here!

 We had a wonderfully eclectic range of loot, and despite the 'damp' weather, managed to find some great treasure at dealers and at the fairs.

 Christina managed to stay looking gorgeous all weekend, even  after being up and about at dawn, and shopping all morning in the rain!   I'd love to know her secrets!

And because it is important to me that my brocante clients enjoy driving around this lovely part of Normandy, we also took the time to take a few pictures and stop for a country lunch  ... who says we have to work all the time?!
