House Tour : Laurent + Antoine

Near Ménerbes, a lovely village in Luberon, Southern France, Laurent and Antoine, both Parisians, remodeled this old sheep barn into a somptuous summer/weekend house. Years and years of careful remodeling gave birth to this haven where they often come to escape their busy Parisian life. Magnifique!

House Tour : Séverine + Jean-Marc

When Séverine and Jean-Marc were house hunting for a flat in the French capital, they expected to find a flat with lots of remodeling to do. Instead, they found this gem in the Condorcet quarter of Paris, and just got busy with their painting brushes. The result is a cosy family home with vibrant colors and just the right amount of vintage and designer pieces.

A tiny but mighty Paris flat

What do you do when you live in a small 30 square meter [325 square feet] flat in the city of lights' 6th arrondissement, but need to push the walls to fit all of your stuff? Well, if you are like Charlotte, then you mix a bit of creativity, a dash of DIY, some elbow grease, and a ton of ingenuity. Et voila! a cosy, comfy fantastic tiny but mighty apartment in the center of the French Capitale. Who said a gal can't get the best of both worlds?

A loft Place des Monges

This loft, located Place des Monges in Paris, has many industrial features that were kept from the original building structure [will you say oh la la with me about the windows?]. And let's talk about color here : look at this sumptuous palette used throughout the loft. So subtle, yet deep and strong and delicate all at once. Now that's what I call a color statement. This loft is full of personality. And I love it!

An artist flat in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

This is the Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Paris VI, apartment of artist Kyo and Sum, her Jack Russel terrier. Kyo surrounds herself with mix and match pieces, giving her interior a bohemian chic feel that inspires her paintings and sculptures. Chicissime.

Bon Appetit : La tapenade

Today, Bastille Day, which means day off in France - days off I should say since pretty much everybody is taking Friday off too to make a long weekend... hey, it's France! ;-)
I am sharing with you a typical apéro/ appetizer dish from Provence: la tapenade or olive pesto.

To prepare the tapenade, you will need:
250 g pitted olives
3 anchovy fillets
1 teaspoon of capers
2 garlic cloves
Olive oil
1 handful of basil leaves

• Put all ingredients in a blender and mix until a smooth paste, gradually adding olive oil.
• Stir occasionally with a spoon. The texture should not be completely smooth, but granular, to express the full flavors and aromas.
• Spread on fresh bread [also divine as a base for homemade pizza]
