I have been decking the halls with a lot of natural touches this year.
Fresh greens, pretty whites and silvers.
Among the pine and cedars, one of my favorites for adding some greenery
indoors is boxwood.
It's dark green foliage is perfection.
In the dining room I added a swag of boxwood garland draped
across the top of the chalkboard.
Gorgeous green boxwood and chalkboards
so happy together

The glow from the tree is reflected in a favorite old mottled worn mirror
on the other side of the room
The dining room tree is a pretty white tree this year.
There is something about a white tree~
they are elegant and charming and I love the gorgeous light they give off.
This whole corner is lit up magically by this tree and the light from it
bounces across the table.
It is covered in oodles of white lights and dotted with just a few ornaments in
I also tucked in a few white feathers and several bags full of clear glass
ornaments in different sizes found at the thrift store.
They look like bubbles reflected in the lights from the tree.

A simple romantic look for Christmas for the dining room this year.
The victims of the shooting in Connecticut have not left my mind since Friday.
It is absolutely heart wrenching.
I have not been feeling like doing much blogging
and some bloggers are taking time off and stepping back from their blogs this
week on various days in unity to show support for the victims
On Friday, I pulled the post I had scheduled. I was so incredibly sad and my heart was hurting
for the families. So many of you have been feeling the same way and have paused this weekend
stopped doing the normal things and stayed close to home.
I hesitated again to post but then a comment reminded me why I should.
That in a world that was filled with such darkness and evil -
that pretty pictures helped them.
I know that not everyone feels that way and I absolutely understand and respect if you
need to take a break from reading and blogging as well.
I will be sharing just a few more room posts and then doing some wrap up posts this week to
share some of the decking that has appeared around our
