Vintage Peonies

Searching flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales

there are always certain things that I seem to keep my eye out for.

Vintage linens, the perfect shabby furniture, old silver and china

and vintage floral paintings to name just a few.

I love the old floral artwork and especially oil paintings

There are certain things I look for...

the perfect flowers 

or an interesting vase

 or the colors- I love vibrant colors that really make a statement in a room

or maybe it's even something that is just the right size.

If you can't find the perfect vintage artwork while shopping or are in a crunch

 to find that piece you are looking for that certain place

 finding a charming reproduction piece is a fantastic choice too.

This artwork is from Gallery Direct.

It is a reproduction of a vintage oil painting that I found while searching their image vault.

Not only do they have so many pieces in their featured artwork sections

they have so many different images to choose from in their vault as well.

I wanted something vibrant, something charming,

and something vintage or at least vintage feeling.

I found this Peony art and knew it would be perfect.

Though this is a gallery wrap printed artwork and not a painting~

 the detail is amazing 

I love it in the office where the sunshine streams through the corner windows
and really sets off the beautiful shabby pinks and blues
 I love how it ties in with the green vintage Summer dress
found for the dressmakers mannequin at my neighbors yard sale a few years back too.

I have been sewing away over here..and at this desk too

 that is in between getting my hands dirty working outdoors
