It's almost Easter time...
Bunny rabbits, baskets of pastel colored eggs and a time to gather together with family and friends
and remember the meaning of the season.
When I was little, we always came up to the mountains to my Grandparents home for Easter.
Grammy would cook a big Easter dinner and we would do an egg hunt on their property
and discover what the Easter Bunny had left for us.
I always looked forward to it and have great memories of Easter time at their house.
When my family and I moved back to this area to be near my grandparents-
it was so much fun to watch my kids run through the yard and find all those pastel eggs
that the Easter Bunny had hidden and to enjoy celebrating with several generations all together.
While Grammy cooked up her delicious courses for the dinner I would get out the special dishes
and linens and set the table.
For the table this year....
I had a few ideas of what I wanted to do.
I love a natural and rustic setting with a little bit of elegance and a little bit of whimsy mixed in.
So, I grabbed a local Kmart Ad and headed in to the store to do a little shopping.
I was looking for place setting ideas, something to bring a bit of nature to the table as well as something fun.
I was also looking for 2 pre-made baskets and was excited to find that everything was on sale.
(off to a good start!!)
I started out setting the table indoors-
and snapped a few photos but really wanted to set an outdoor table.
So when the rain stopped and the sun popped out for a bit-
I moved the table outside for a little al fresco setting in the yard.
The plank table and Kmart Bistro chairs were perfect for a charming Easter setting.

My daughter said it looked like an Alice in Wonderland and was even complete with the white rabbit.
:)
I love that.
I love that.
Though I had looked online and already had an idea of what I would purchase...
when I walked in the store right away I found what I needed for the place settings.
I was excited to find the recycled paper shreds among the faux grass for baskets.
I loved them and picked up several packages and tucked them underneath the plate chargers.

I also found several darling packs of little nests and eggs.
Yellow, green and pink speckled eggs with little nests- perfect.
I placed the nests on the napkins and filled them with little tiny Dove chocolate eggs
(Dove is a favorite chocolate of mine... yum!!)
I then added a little charming gold foil wrapped bunny to each place setting for a decadent touch.
a wee chick and a wee lamb... so cute and perfect for holding a handful of jelly beans.
I set them on the plate with a little name card tucked in
They are perfect for a bit of whimsy & for a special treat for little friends to take home.
I was thinking about making an egg wreath but when I saw this darling one
or a welcome on the door.
For the centerpiece- a few packs of strawberry plants and Allysum from the garden department
planted in a silver serving container
and made a perfect spot for a few eggs and a chocolate rabbit.
I also purchased 2 of the Kmart pre-made Easter baskets this year to drop off
at the local Salvation Army administrative offices.
When I called them to inquire about donating Easter Baskets
the Salvation Army was quite excited to be able to put the baskets out for a family
in need to come and get them for their children.
Maybe a new tradition in the making. :)

I am loving all the treats I found at Kmart this year for creating an Easter holiday table.
Hope you all have a wonderful Blessed Easter!
