I wasn't sure just how I was going to be decorating
the fireplace mantels this year.
I have a tendency to go big and bold
and love the Southern Living style decoration
But I have been leaning towards a more simple
quiet mantel decorated with whites & silvers.
One covered in fresh greens
and dotted with a few pinecones
maybe some bare twigs and leafy branches
These pine branches are fresh cut from our yard
and then sprinkled with faux snow (the best kind!) to create an icy look.
The sparkle of mercury glass candlesticks and trees
bring a bit of glam and I love silver containers filled
with beautiful white roses.
I really wanted a boxwood wreath for this mantel but haven't found one locally yet
so for now a faux leaf wreath will do.
Our living room fireplace is a BIG old fireplace
measuring about 8 feet across.
It can hold huge fires inside and I love the original old
character & charm it has.
The simple decorations that cover it this year
are more peaceful and quiet to me
though...
I have to admit...the look may just change -
it's only the 6th of December!
lol!
If it does- I'll share it!
Working on adding a bit of Christmas cheer
to my bedroom mantel next and will be sharing
my bedroom decked out for Christmas soon!
