PAINTED SWEDISH FURNITURE

I found an unbelievable set of antique painted furniture recently -

I thought I would share it~

First of all- ebay and craigslist are the bomb! I browse waaay too much- but sometimes it pays off and this is definitely one of those times!

I found a set of painted grey and blue antique furniture- I LOVE swedish style almost as much as french.

I could not believe all the pieces that came with this set and the price.

This is a quick post about it- but I'll post more about details later.

-Full size bed frame frame- oh my! Can totally see it painted white! but love it as is too~

-Desk with 2 drawers

-Vanity with 5 drawers and tilt mirror

-HUGE armoire - with three doors- one mirrored- and TONS of storage possibilities.

-2 dainty swedish style side chairs

-Cast iron antique fireplace surround

-Mantle mirror

-Petite nightstand

- Also an interesting- (but not so much loving it)- chair and matching broken settee(not pictured)

They aren't all perfect- but I love pieces that have lots of character and these definitely qualify!

The bed is the worst - some missing gesso there are some really old repairs to the gesso on but the caning is intact.

The wreaths and swag ornamentation are absolutely gorgeous as is the old gustavian grey blue finish and cream highlights.

I am amazed at the cast iron fireplace surround-

I have seen little old fireplace surrounds such as this in many of my design books- but didn't dream I would happen upon one! So excited!

All in all there are 11 pieces.

Price- $200

for everything...

I didn't even dicker.

I'm starting to tinker around with them, jot down some visions for them and clean up a bit and will blog about the individual pieces as I have sooo many ideas and thoughts about possibilities!
