As summer approaches, everyone in this house is thinking about changing their wardrobe, eager to forget the layers of jumpers and socks that have been keeping us warm all winter.

In fact we want to strip off!  Even our feet want to feel lighter, and there's not one member of this family who doesn't want a pair of espadrilles for the summer, or maybe 2 or 3 pairs.

So what colour to choose?  The beauty of these shoes is that they look good in every colour, and that goes for men, women and children.  No one here looks  twice at a man wearing pale blue or pink espadrilles.

We can buy them at the market, piled up beside the tomatoes and salads.  You can buy them for other people, no need to try, just need their shoe size.

Sometimes we go for loud stripes

sometimes for quiet stripes

sometimes the girls want a lacy look around their ankles

and sometimes the boys feel the need to be serious

Whatever the option they always look great on tanned legs,

and once they're on your feet you know you're on holiday!
